Dear Newsletter Subscriber,
The John and Mary Frances Patton Peace & War Center invites you to the 30th annual Norwich University Military Writers’ Symposium from October 7 to 8, 2024 on the Norwich University campus. Virtual streaming will be available for those who cannot attend in person. To celebrate this milestone year, we have created a video celebrating the legacy of this event—the only program of its kind at an American university (Linked above).
This year’s theme, “Perception Wars: The Battle to Control Reality,” will focus on information warfare. It will emphasize Norwich’s unique work in the information warfare space and feature popular authors, former operators, and other experts to discuss critical topics related to the field and Norwich at large. Registration is encouraged.
Among many exciting speakers, the event will highlight the 2024 William E. Colby Military Writers’ Award winner, Mariana Budjeryn, for her book Inheriting the Bomb: The Collapse of the USSR and the Nuclear Disarmament of Ukraine (John Hopkins Press). Budjeryn, whose work is both timely and relevant, has the added distinction of being the first female author to be honored as the winner of the Colby Award in its 25-year history.
